When I saw them in 2005 my brother gave me a ring and said "have a look outside the northern lights are showing" I had a look and they weren't there. Knowing he was not the type for windups we spent the next half hour or so looking skywards and then they simply appeared. First as a green hue and then as red and green curtain which slowly took shape in the sky. Utterly amazing! I was really disappointed to have missed them this time. Fantastic shots. I've never seen the...Hi David. Fantastic shots. I've never seen the Northern Lights – despite staying several times on The Northern Lights Campsite just south of Ullapool. I had no idea they could be viewed so far south until I saw the news on Look North last week.
