A couple record shots of the recent snowfall.

Clearly sheep are well insulated. |
This was the shot that got away.
When I first spotted her she was lying down next to the hay bales
and partly buried.
Unfortunately the
sheep around here are often fed sheep nuts and the sound of a plastic bag cover
being removed from the camera must have meant food.
Disappointment for both of us.

Hardy chaps those sheep.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great deal more snow than we do i.e. - some.
They certainly are hardy things. Unfortunately it looks like the west missed out this time, although you may get some on higher ground tomorrow. It may not last long though, the forecast I saw mentioned it turning increasingly to rain as the weekend progresses. A shame really as the skiing has only just got going up Teesdale.
DeleteDid they try to eat the camera case, David? When I was a child I had an old camera in a brown leather case, and on a picnic near Coniston one time some curious cows gave it a serious licking. I can't remember if I took a picture of them or not.

Fortunately no, they just headed over in the hope my bag contained food and then did the dejected sheep look. Cows are terrible for licking stuff. A number of years back I used to help out a local farmer at "Hay Time" and one day I came back to find my car had nearly been licked to death. The whole bloody thing was covered in slime. Not only that but the cows also decided to have a rub on it as well and snapped off my aerial and one of my spot lights. They had not bothered with the other vehicles which were basically old knackered Landrovers, Mini Pickups etc. The farmer thought it was car polish that had attracted them to mine. Perhaps it was something similar on your camera case?
